Beaded Necklace Instructions – Free Project
These beads are very nice and affordable, since they are imitation cinnabar from Fire Mountain Gems. I matched them up with black onyx rounds and gold chain for this piece. I love this necklace, it is as fun as it looks and goes with your office attire or a night out with friends. Earrings for this necklace can be found here.
You’ll need these supplies:(necklace only)
- 1 – 38x25mm carved cinnabar butterfly
- 3 – 17mm carved cinnabar round
- 2 – 21X11mm carved cinnabar melon
- 10 – 6mm black onyx beads
- 2 – 4mm black onyx beads
- 12 – 2mm gold beads or size 11 seed bead in gold
- 3.10mm gold chain; 2 – 10inch sections, 2 – 2 1/2 inch sections, 2 – 1 inch sections and one 3 link section
- Hook clasp with figure 8; gold tone
- goldtone wire, 22 gauge
- 1 – 3 inch headpin; goldtone
- 13 jumprings; goldtone
You’ll need these tools:
- Crimping pliers
- Wire cutters
- round nose pliers
- chain nose pliers
Directions:
1.) Make your three 17mm carved cinnabar round bead links. Bead one 6mm black onyx round, one 2mm gold bead, one 17mm carved cinnabar round bead, one 2mm gold bead, one 6mm black onyx round. Go here to learn how to make a bead link.
2.) Make your two 21X11mm carved cinnabar melon bead links. Bead one 6mm black onyx round, one 2mm gold bead, one 21X11mm carved cinnabar melon, one 2mm gold bead, one 6mm black onyx round. Go here to learn how to make a bead link.
3.) Make your butterfly pendant. Using your headpin, bead one 2mm gold bead, one 4mm black onyx bead, the butterfly bead, one 4mm black onyx bead, one 2mm gold bead. Loop and wrap the top around the 3 link section.
4.) Attach jumprings to the chain and then the bead links and pendant as shown in the picture. You’ll just be putting together the different pieces with jumprings.
5.) Attach clasp to the ends of the chain using jumprings.
