Does your teen like to fly kites? If so, this easy kite craft is for them, so they can dream of fun spring and summer days while reading 😉
You will need:
- 8-inch length of ribbon
- 3 5-inch lengths of ribbon
- Kite template
- Pattern card stock
- Marker
- Glue
Cut out your template, diamond shape out of cardstock. Do this by folding the paper in half and cutting two at a time. If you wish, you can search a diamond shape on google and print it out after you size it in a word processor. After printing your template, cut it out and trace it on pattern card stock two times. Cut these pieces out.
Take the lengths of 5-inch ribbon and knot them to the end of the longer ribbon as shown in the picture. Trim the shorter ribbons and notch the end of the longer ribbon.
Sandwich the opposite end of your longer ribbon in between the two paper kits and affix with glue. Be sure the side of the paper you want to show is facing outward.
Draw lines with a marker on both sides of your kite to represent the rods that hold a kit together. Enjoy your kit bookmark.
