1.) Useful and easy recycled jeans craft for teens.
When my teen grew out of this pair of jeans, I knew we had to recycle them into something she could use. This craft is so useful to teens who have to go digging around in their school lockers looking for school supplies like pencils, pens or paper clips. Just stick it on the inside door of a metal locker and put in all of your little supplies.
2.) Gather your supplies.
You’ll need:
- Recycled jeans; cut out front pocket
- 2 magnet strips
- Hot glue
- School supplies
3.) Glue down the inside of the pocket.
Most front pockets of jeans are made of cotton and have a loose flap. This should be glued down to the back of the denim to add support to the pencils and pens that will be placed in the pocket. Put down a line of hot glue on the denim and press the flap of the pocket to it.
4.) Turn up the edges of the blue jeans.
Using hot glue, secure the cut edges of the blue jeans as shown in the picture. There is no need to turn the edge of the top of the jeans.
5.) Add the magnet strips.
Hot glue two strips of magnets to the back of the pencil holder, one at the top and one at the bottom.
6.) Fill with supplies and variations you can make.
Put the pencil holder on the inside of the locker door and place supplies inside. Now when your teen opens their locker, their supplies are right at hand.
Variations:
- Use a deep back pocket.
- If the front pocket does not have a patch, decorate it with fabric paint first.
- Personalize it with alphabet iron-on.
