Beaded Bookmark Craft for Teens

This beaded bookmark craft is very easy and fun to make. Teenagers can make them for friends or as a fundraiser for youth groups. They make wonderful gifts and can be very diverse. So, they will fit any theme just by changing the colors and shapes of the beads.

1.) Gather Your Supplies

You’ll need:

• 18 inches of hemp cord
• various beads with holes big enough to fit over the hemp cord
• ruler

2.) Start with the First Knot.

Place the first knot about three inches up from one of the ends.

3.) Bead the cord end.

Bead the end of the cord for about 1-1/2 inches. Place a knot at the end of the beads.

4.) Second set of beads, placement.

Going from the top of your beads to the other side of the cord, make a knot ten inches away. This should give you ten inches between beads.

Bead about 2 to 3 inches of beads on this end, it will be considered the “bottom” of the book end. Shaped beads like animals and flowers are great for this. Knot off when you are done beading.

5.) Trim and Enjoy!

Trim the ends of the cord to 1/4 of an inch away from the end knot on both sides. Enjoy your new bookmark.
