Beach Candle Crafts for Teens

This beach themed candle is a perfect decoration for a teen bedroom during the summer and a great way to save the sand and small shells from your family vacation. To make this teen craft, you’ll need:

20 to 22 gauge wire
Glass container with lip
Sand
Small sea shells
Votive candle

Leaving a 6-inch tail, wrap the wire around under the lip of the glass container about 4 times. Fashion a handle, pulling the wire up over the opening and twisting it tightly with the tail on the other side. Then wrap the wire around another four times, until it is secure. Test it by picking up the glass container by it’s handle. If it is secure, twist the wires together, trim and curl the wire ends.

Fill the glass container with halfway sand and shells. Push the votive candle in the center, until it hits the bottom of the container. Now you can light and hang your beach candle.

Variation: Make a sign with the name of the beach that you collected your shells and sand from.
