Making soap is not only fun, it gives you something you can use. This craft can turn into a lifetime hobby that your teen will enjoy always.
To make the beach bath soaps, you will need these supplies:
- 8-ounces White melt and pour soap, depending on your molds
- Food coloring; blue and green
- 4-cup glass measuring cup to melt soap
- 7 drops of essential oil
- Spoon
- Rubbing alcohol in a spritzer
We used a mold made with beach sea shells on top. We started out by melting our soap according to package directions, leaving it white and pouring it into the mold only so far as the shells become a part of the mold. Then we spritzed with rubbing alcohol.
Use the rest of your soap to make the bricks part of your Beach Sea Shells Soap. When melted, add 3 drops of blue food coloring, 2 drops of green food coloring and 5-7 drops of essential oil – we used lavender for relaxing bath times. Mix until you have an even color. Pour into the molds and spritz with rubbing alcohol.
This two-step melt and pour soap project opens up many crafting doors for teens. Different themes of soaps can be made for gifts, parties and fund raisers. Enjoy!
