This simple wire wrapped earwire works well with heavier beaded earrings.
You’ll need these supplies:
- 4-inches of 20 or 21 gauge wire; cut into two 2-inch pieces
You’ll need these tools:
- wire cutters; flush cutters
- 1/2-inch dowel rod or sharpie marker
- Round nose pliers
- Bent nose or chain nose pliers
- hammer
- anvil or steel plate
- wire file
Directions for this Tutorial:
For each earring:
1. Make a loop at the end of the wire, see picture 1.
2. Bend the wire around the 1/2-inch dowel rod or sharpie marker, see picture 2.
3. Finish both earwires up to this point. match them up before going further.
4. Trim the end and bend it slightly out, see picture 3.
5. Hammer the wire where I have the picture shaded. File the end.
Style 2: Bend the other way between steps 1 and 2 in the above image to get these earwires.
