Mystic Necklace

Beaded Necklace Instructions – Free Pattern Tutorial
Olive green jade is such a warm and inviting stone. I coupled it with mother of pearl for a ‘playful sprite’ type of look. These design instructions involve some wire wrapping, so it’s more of an intermediate project. You’ll absolutely love how this design plays on the neck.

You’ll need these supplies:

  • Clasp
  • Beading wire
  • 2 crimp beads
  • Olive jade beads 10-15mm ovals
  • Mother of pearl (mop) beads – coin shape
  • 8mm Gold jumprings
  • Headpins

You’ll need these tools:

  • Crimping plyers
  • Bent nose or chain nose plyers

Directions

Crimp 21 inches of bead wire on your clasp. String 9 olive jade beads, then one 8mm jumpring(#1). String 13 bead/jumpring(#1) combinations. Then string 9 olive jade beads. Finish the end with a crimp bead and the clasp. This makes an 18-inch necklace. If you want longer or shorter, add or subtract from the beads on the ends.

wire bead

You’ll need to wire wrap 42 mother of pearl coin shaped beads with headpins as shown. Please be sure to wire wrap these as just making a loop is not secure enough for this design.

attach to beaded necklace

Take three MOP wraps and place them on a unattached jumpring(#2). Attach the jumpring(#2) to a jumpring(#1) that is on the necklace, as shown on the left hand loop. Then take another jumpring(#3) and weave it through jumpring(#2), the three headpin loops and jumpring(#1). See the loop on the right.

Continue to do this too all 14 jumprings(#1) Using all 42 of the mother-of-pearl wraps. Enjoy!
