Make a lucky bookmark for you and your friends. Easy to make many or organize as a group craft.
You’ll need these supplies to make the wire shamrock bookmark:
- 12-inches 22 gauge wire; gold
- 14-inches green cord; mine is satin
- 1 bead drop
- Round nose pliers
- Wire cutters
Instructions:
Leave a two inch tail. Using a thumb or sharpie marker, make the first loop of your shamrock. Wrap the wire around the tail to secure the first loop.
Make the second and third loops the same way, securing the wire in the center after each loop. Trim the working end after you have secured the last loop.
Make an eye loop on the end of the shamrock’s tail and add a bead that has been made into a bead drop using a head pin.
Place the cording through the eye loop of the shamrock and the bead eye loop. Center the wire shamrock and bead drop on the cord and overhand knot to secure them.
Finish knotting down the cording. Great craft to practice overhand knots.
Try giving a group of teens a length of wire and see what type of wire sculpting they can do. Anything that can have an eye loop on it will work for this craft.
