Jean Bracelet Craft for Teens

My daughter and I made up this braided blue jean bracelet with scraps of blue jeans we had left over from another craft and some beads. It’s easy and totally cute.

You’ll need:

  • 2-inch Strips of jeans; use the whole front of the leg
  • 2 Large hole beads(American cane glass beads shown)
  • Masking tape

Directions:

Secure the strips to a table by taping them down, side-by-side. Leave about a 3-inch tail.

Braid the strips of blue jeans into about 4 braids. Add a bead and braid three. Add a bead and braid 4 more.

Tie an overhand knot in both ends. Check size by putting the bracelet around the wrist. If the knots barely touch, it’s the right size. If they overlap, it’s too big. Un-knot and re-braid.

Trim the end that was taped to the table right after the knot. Make a loop with the two of the strips at the non-trimmed end. Knot and trim them.

To put on the bracelet, pull the loop on one end over the knot on the other.

Try these variations of this bracelet:

  • Replace one strip of jeans with 2-inch ribbon.
  • Replace one strip of jeans with a beaded strand.
  • Use three different colors of jeans.
  • Sew the ends together, instead of making the loop. Turns it into a ‘soft bangle’.
